Easter Sunday is already a special day because of what it represents, but this year’s was particularly memorable due to the circumstances surrounding it. As anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock knows, the COVID-19 outbreak has ravaged the world, forcing people to be apart during many milestones. My family thought that would continue to be the case during Easter, so you can imagine how grateful we were when we found a way to be together.
Although it involved complete quarantining for the past two weeks, it was absolutely worth the isolation since it meant the whole family was able to celebrate such a meaningful holiday together. And as we enjoyed a family dinner following our livestreamed church service, I saw how much it meant for everyone to be here today.
Family is something that can be easily taken for granted, but the coronavirus has highlighted just how special familial bonds are. I will never forget this Easter because I experienced it during a time of such uncertainty in the world with some of my favorite people on the planet.
